I just received my vinyl copy of 1961 in the post today and it's spinning on the platter as I type. Oh the twang. I absolutely love this album. And the fact that I can listen to it on vinyl makes it even better! Allen Palmgren
This is a flawless album from start to finish. It feels like Tal picked up where the maestro Ennio Morricone left off and expanded upon this portion of his work. The beautifully melodic guitar lines meld perfectly with spare but authoritative percussion and bass with just enough horns and other instruments to give it spice without overpowering the meal. And like a perfect meal it will leave you feeling satisfied and nourished.

The debut LP from Kioea is dreamy psychedelic surf music that calls back to the '60s while feeling remarkably contemporary. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2023
